Empowering Society Through the Arts with Yo-Yo Ma

1104_Yo-Yo-Ma96812.jpgThis weekend I'll be returning to my alma mater for the DePauw Discourse 2011 featuring Yo-Yo Ma.  Mr. Ma will be giving a talk, performance and master class during the residency at DePauw University over the next couple of days.  Also included in the Discourse are a number of other speakers, educators and performers in the arts.  This will prove to be, I hope, an invigorating experience.

After the last event on Saturday I will be performing with my Experimental Vintage Goth project, Secondhand, at the UUI (Universalist Unitarian Church of Indianapolis) in Indianapolis, Indiana.  The show is titled, "Amiable Artistry - A Belly Dance Show" and details may be found at the facebook event here

In between events I plan on doing a collaborative recording project with West Coast based cellist, Derek M Johnson, in celebration of our respective birthdays.  More on that later.

Hope to see some of you folks over the next few days!

Saleem Seyal, University of Louisville School of Medicine.  The lecture and performance will take place at the Iroquois branch of the Louisville Public Library.
