Jon will be playing Holst’s “The Planets” with the IU Southeast Orchestra on Sunday April 22.

The Music Department at Indiana University Southeast will present the IU Southeast Orchestra on Sunday, April 22 at 3 p.m. in the Ogle Center on the IU Southeast campus, 4201 Grant Line Road in New Albany. Tickets purchased in advance are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $5 for students. Tickets purchased at the door are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $5 for students.

In a special partnership with the Gheens Science Hall & Rauch Planetarium, patrons who present a ticket stub from the Planetarium will receive 50% off their tickets for the concert. Likewise, patrons who present a ticket stub from the concert will receive 50% off the price of admission to the Planetarium (offer expires June 30, 2018).

Under the direction of Dr. Joanna Goldstein, the ensemble will perform The Overture to “The Wasps” by Ralph Vaughan Williams and, in honor of the upcoming 100th anniversary of its premiere in 1918, Gustav Holst’s monumental work, “The Planets” in which the orchestra will be joined by the Women’s Choir of the IU Southeast Concert Choir & Community Chorus. The performance of “The Planets” will be accompanied by a video presentation by Robert Rollings.

Parking for the event is free from one hour prior to the start of the performance until one hour following the conclusion of the event for vehicles parked in the Dogwood lot directly front of the Ogle Center and the Hickory lot directly behind the Ogle Center. Vehicles parked in other locations and/or at other times will be subject to ticketing.
