The Music Department at Indiana University Southeast will present the IU Southeast Concert Band in a special VETERANS DAY CONCERT on Friday evening, November 11 — Veterans Day — at 8 p.m. in the Ogle Center on IU Southeast campus, 4201 Grant Line Road in New Albany. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $5 for students, and are available at the Ogle Center ticket office, by calling (812) 941-2525, or online at oglecenter.com. Veterans and Active Duty military are offered two free tickets for the event. Free tickets can be obtained by calling or visiting the Ogle Center ticket office.
Under the direction of Philip A. Thomas, the band will perform “American Salute (based on ‘When Johnny Comes Marching Home’” by Morton Gould, “Pacem (A Hymn for Peace)” by Robert Spittal, “Variations on ‘America’” by Charles Ives and transcribed by William E. Rhoads, “No Finer Calling: A Symphony in Three Movements” by Julie Giroux, and “Armed Forces-The Pride of America!” arranged by Larry Clark and Greg Gilpin.
Free parking is available in the Dogwood lot directly in front of the Ogle Center and in the Hickory lot directly behind the Ogle Center from one hour prior to the start of the concert until one hour following the conclusion of the performance. Vehicles parked in other locations and/or at other times will be subject to ticketing.
