Kasari Dance is a modern dance collective under the direction of Katie Kasari, with a commitment to furthering dance opportunities in Louisville through performance, artist collaboration, and community outreach.

As part of the interactive video and music project, Camera Lucida, Jon Silpayamanant was commissioned to compose a work for Kasari Dance, a modern dance troupe founded and directed by Katie Kasari. The title of the dance, as well as the musical composition, is “Finding Flight” and was written for cello with fixed media.

The premiere performance was at the Eifler Theater of the Clifton Center in Louisville, Kentucky on 23 February 2020. It was part of the Louisville Dance Series event titled “Hindsight.”
