An arrangement of the overture to Baligh Hamdi’s “Alf Leila Wa Leila” ألف ليلة وليلة (1001 Nights) for events at DePauw University School of Music. Alf Liela Wa Leila was written for Um Kulthoum in 1969 and was one of many waslah composed for the Egyptian diva.

Performers were members of a student group “Bootleg Ensemble.” The work was commissioned by Kazuki Hanado, a cello performance major and organizer of the events on which this was performed.
