Intro

“Good Bones” was a solo performance art piece created and performed by Christine Olson at CultureFix in New York City. The performance took place during the monthly Performance Anxiety event on March 1, 2013 accompanied by music by Jon Silpayamanant/Noiseman433/Camera Lucida.

Artist Statement

Beginning with a distribution of items to the audience including bones to represent loss, foil wrapped chocolates to represent desire on an ornate tray with barbaric and clumsy gloves.
Wearing a top of wrapped blue plastic and a frilly loose skirt, a handful of dust is dropped. Then a handful of glitter from the opposite hand. Memories. Aspirations.

Then to perform promise: hope, ritual, gritty, minimalistic dance, at times white petals fall out. A performer striving to be “good” but when so much is awry.
